“Few things are as smart as investing in becoming a better thinker and developing stronger mind. Relentless learning is one of the main traits of an open and powerful person. An obsessive and on-going education is one of the greatest survival tactics to get through turbulent times. “Robin Sharma

Robin Sharma is right about relentless learning.

I know learning can bring numerous benefits.

And the good part is improving your knowledge has never been easier and affordable.

Thanks to the internet we can all easily harness such opportunities.

So why not take a little break from social media and hop into the bandwagon of free online education. While these course may not translate to credit, still what you will learn will go a long way.

Here is what I love about online education

1.There is something for every one of us.

2.You no longer have to wait for scheduled training, you can access training in the comfort of your home.

For those who have been at that place at work where you wish they could send you for some refresher course, free online education is worth a try.

3. For those in their formative years of their career these online platforms can provide guidance for one to map their career path.

They can help you answer questions such as;

What is the career path I intend to take all about?  Is this what I really want to do?

4. They afford you opportunity to expand on your knowledge and satisfy your curiosity.

Plus knowledge empowers you and improves your confidence.

5. There are courses available for entrepreneurs where one can test their ideas and sharpen their business skills. We love entrepreneurs with the know how.

6.Online learning can keep you abreast with today’s changing world.

It is a beautiful way to stay relevant.

Don’t you just get tired of those colleagues who keep saying “we have been doing this for years” and their methods are so 1960. They need a complete make over.

Here are my favorite resources for online education

TED-Ed

I love Ted talks, over the years I have squeezed in one or two whenever I can.

Ted-Ed is an extension of Ted’s mission of spreading great ideas.

They create short videos aimed at educators and students many of which are in the form of animation.

If you are struggling to understand a scientific concept, it might be a good place to start.

Some of Ted-Ed videos I have watched are  by Carvens Lissaint a slam poet on put “the financial aid in the bag” and “questions no one knows the answer to” by Chris Anderson.

Now your turn, share with someone you think will benefit from this information.
