Remember the time you had dreams.
May be you wanted to travel the world or write a book, learn how to play violin, take dance lessons, start painting or start a business.
Over a period of time you pushed those dreams away.
You probably blame it on lack of resources, or you just never found time to pursue those dreams or maybe you decided to be practical.
May be you have sworn that it is too late to pursue any of those dreams.
Ever heard of Babette Hughes?
In her 90s Babette is still writing.
Babette wrote 3 novels in her 80s.
Babette teaches us that for as long as you are alive, however old or young you are, you can still take a shot at your dreams.
This woman reminds me of my grandmother, not that she has ever written a book.
My grandmother had no formal education yet in her old age she used to visit primary schools and share traditional stories with the students.
At times she would take me along.
I remember children gathering around grandma with enthusiasm as she told them floktales.
Grandma desired a chance in education and in her small way ended up influencing the lives of students.
I know that opportunities to go to places you are not worthy of going to, will open for you if you give your dreams a chance.
It is difficult when you don’t have big budget next to your name.
It is difficult when you feel time is against you.
It is even more difficult when you live in the world that boxes and defines who can dream and who can make those dreams happens.
But this year I ask you to dust off your forgotten dreams and breath life upon those dreams.
You can learn from those among us who have given their dreams a chance, like the ones who travel on a tight budgets, the ones with a full time job and yet they find time to pursue their God given dreams.
You can dream again.
You can retrieve your dreams from the forgotten rooms of your heart.
Let your dreams see a new day.
